On behalf of T15 clubs nationwide, the RYA would like to thank Neilson for their continuing support of the team15 initiative.
Neilson has supported the T15 programme over the last four years and are delighted with the success of the programme in encouraging young people to get active. Joe Lynch, Neilson Head of Product & Marketing, commented: Young people can receive a lot of bad publicity about their lifestyles, but we are delighted to be working with and recognising those youngsters who put the effort in, get out there and work hard on the water. Team15 mirrors our philosophy, enjoy yourself and relax as hard as you like….I remember learning to windsurf at the age of 12, just for a laughs. Little did I realise that it would lead to a career in the sailing and travel industry.
Neilson directly support eight T15 clubs across the country with race vests, which are worn at four annual inter-club challenges and the Champions Cup, if clubs qualify. The following team15 clubs wear bespoke team15/Neilson branded race vests at these regional based events: |
- Whitecap Lakers
- Bosworth Bullets
- Surfstore Allstars
- Manic Monkeys
- Lagoon Piranhas
- Croft Farm Flyers
- Stithians Allstars
- Menai Dragons
- Monikie Maniacs

Sponsorship monies from Neilson also provide the much-needed financial input required to support the T15 programme as a whole, helping it expand in terms of events and activities on offer as well as training new clubs to start delivering team15 sessions. Over and above the money pledged, as activity holiday specialists Neilson kindly offer deals on holidays to children and their families involved in team15, and to the T15 coaches as well, enabling everyone to improve their windsurfing skills whilst having a great time in countries such as Greece, Croatia and Turkey.
Gillian Wright, RYA National Windsurfing Development Officer commented: The team15 programme is going from strength to strength, and is growing all the time. Neilson staying on board is a real boost to T15 and will help the programme to expand further, providing yet more children around the UK with the opportunity to get involved.

ADOPT-A-BEACH

The Green Blue is an environmental awareness initiative by the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. One of its aims is to educate and promote the sustainable use of coastal and inland waters by watersports participants.
Some of the initiatives have a relevance to windsurfers - especially in achieving cleaner seas and beaches.
Adopt-a-Beach is definitely relevant to T15ers, which is a Marine Conservation Society project supported by the Green Blue.
